I’ve said it before but one of my all-time favorite moments to capture is a proposal! The soon to be groom reaches out to me usually months in advance and together we plan the perfect moment for him to ask his love to be marry him. It’s a moment that he’s imagined for years sometimes and he wants to get it just right. It’s my joy to be able to help him throughout the planning process and the actual capturing of the moment.
How They Met
To set the stage for telling the full story of Brittany’s and Adams proposal I will start with how they met. In Adams own words. “Brittany and I first met through a social app, Meetup. We were a part of a group named, “OC 20s and 30s shy guys/gals”. For me, I am anything but shy, but it was a great way to make friends since I was new to Orange County. We had interacted a few times at different events and one night I decided to ask her out. The rest, you can say, is history.” – Adam
The Proposal
Prior to reaching out Adam had done his due diligence. Researching the Santa Ynez Valley thoroughly and stumbled upon the beauty of Nojoiji Park. Little did he know though was that with the rain we had gotten for the first time in years there would be an actual waterfall flowing. This waterfall would become the perfect backdrop for his proposal.
My second shooter and I woke up early to beat the crowds. The weather was absolutely perfect and everything was just right. Shortly after we had reached the waterfall Adam and Brittany came wondering up. We said a casual hello and continued to chat about unimportant items like college rowing teams and sports in general as I carefully watched for Adam to get down on one knee. Then the moment happened, Adam began to slowly pull out the ring box, got down on one knee and proceeded to ask the love of his life to marry him. And she said YES!
After a few moments taking it all in we officially greeted each other and I expressed my heartfelt congratulations. We spent the next half hour exploring the hiking trail, taking more photos and celebrating the happy couple. Brittany and Adam, congratulations again and thank you for trusting me to capture this moment in your lives!
