Alisson and Ivan’s Santa Barbara Courthouse wedding was a sight to behold!
Allison and Ivan met through the Santa Barbara Police Department Explorer program 6 years ago. While they started off as friends, everyone could see the connection they shared as they continuously were asked if they were dating or when they were getting married. Then 3 years into their friendship Ivan made the first move and kissed her when they were on a hike together to Painted Cave. A year into the start of their relationship Ivan went to Boot Camp and started his career with the Marines, in Aviation Ordnance. All while continuing his long distance relationship with Allison. During one of Ivan’s trips home he proposed at the same spot where it all first started, the Painted Cave Hike. Of course she said yes!
Alison and Ivan were married in the beautiful Mural room if the Santa Barbara Courthouse.
Alisson had said beforehand that she was most excited about walking down the aisle in her wedding dress and seeing Ivan’s reaction. Which was a beautiful moment indeed! Their reception was held at Toro Canyon Park which lies in the Santa Barbara foothills, otherwise known as the American Riviera.
On the drive to Toro Canyon Ivan, he mentioned how he likes hiking. Which is why how the choose their reception location. While Alisson doesn’t like hiking as much. Ivan likes sleeping out under the stars. Alisson – not so much. Through this conversation I could already tell their marriage was off to a great start when Alisson said when and if they go hiking, Ivan can sleep out under the stars and she’ll sleep in the tent. Problem solved! That is true compromise.
Another highlight of their Santa Barbara Courthouse wedding day included, when some of the wedding party mentioned that after the bridal party photos they were going to Taco Bell for food. Alisson perked up and said – “I’m starving! Bring me a taco! Unfortunately, Alisson never got her taco but it was indeed a comical moment.
As this Santa Barbara wedding came to an end I was overjoyed for these two! I wish them a lifetime of love, happiness and laughter! Congratulations Alisson and Ivan!
